BÄRENWALD Müritz is Western Europe’s largest bear sanctuary and a wildlife protection project by VIER PFOTEN. Located near Lake Plau in Germany, it provides a natural home for 11 rescued brown bears previously held in zoos, circuses, and private facilities. Visitors can observe these bears as they recover in spacious, naturalistic enclosures designed to encourage instinctive behaviors such as foraging, swimming, and hibernating.
